About Me

My name is Jennifer Janeway. I am a licensed massage therapist in Washington State.  I am certified with the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage & Bodywork and certified with Associated Bodywork and Massage Professionals.

I received my training in Kauai, Hawaii in 2006 from the Pacific Center for Awareness and Bodywork.  We focused on the healing of each person both physically and emotionally.  My training included Swedish, Trigger Point and energy work with an emphasis on working at deep levels of the body-mind through what is called Connective Bodywork.   Connective Bodywork is defined as “… work(ing) with the many layers of the connective tissues in the body, and with the connections between body, mind, heart and spirit in a dynamic and often profound way” (Pacific Center For Awareness And Bodywork).   I graduated with a Connective Tissue Bodyworker degree having received 700 hours of instruction/bodywork experience.  I became licensed in Hawaii and was self-employed there.  I worked in a small spa setting, on personal clients and on therapists who needed a tune-up after working many hours themselves.

I was attracted to the Pacific Center for Awareness and Bodywork because of a background in Psychology and Counseling.  I received my Masters in Counseling from Argosy University in Seattle, WA in 2004.  I appreciate alternative counseling and healing practices including EFT (www.emofree.com).

I moved from Kauai in 2007 and have lived in the San Juan Islands since that time.
I continue to enjoy my work as a Licensed Massage Therapist.  At this point I enjoy integrating several styles of massage to help the client relax as well as the body-mind to open and have a renewed sense of space and connectedness.

My interests include spending time with my family, hiking, reading and gardening.
I enjoy chi gong, yoga and herbal and alternative medicine.
